Founded in March 2020, Alpaflow has chosen to focus on data engineering, artificial intelligence and automation, and today offers solutions for innovation in the transport, energy and manufacturing sectors. We welcomed Jérémie and Xavier to hub.brussels to tell us more about the start-up and its ambitions.
One of Alpaflow’s flagship collaboration is with Laborelec, on a project called Smatch, a Smart Charging initiative aimed at optimising the distribution of electrical energy according to different constraints such as grid capacity and market fluctuations. Xavier, partner at Alpaflow, explains, “Smatch aims to distribute energy according to certain requirements, whether related to networks, network limitations or the electricity market. We are working closely with customers such as Laborelec to develop this innovative solution.”
In addition to the project, Alpaflow offers industrialisation and production process optimisation solutions that are essential for companies seeking to innovate in the field of electric mobility. “We started with prototypes and eventually moved on to setting up quality tests on the production line, in partnership with our customers,” Xavier points out.
The advantage of the industrial sector is that technological innovation is often already well established. Nevertheless, the start-up has encountered several major challenges in its development. Xavier explains, “The challenge lies in managing the scalability, quality and operability of solutions, as well as their large-scale reproducibility.” To meet this challenge, Alpaflow works closely with its customers to ensure the success of their projects.
With its team of 10 experts, Alpaflow focuses primarily on the Belgian market but is aiming for international expansion in the long term. “We have growth ambitions and long-term goals, but we also recognise the importance of having a local presence and a thorough understanding of the market,” explains Jérémie.
As for the future, Alpaflow intends to grow while remaining focused on innovation. “We are working on a wide range of projects, from optimising charging points for electric cars to energy management for urban infrastructures,” concludes Xavier. Their aim is to continue to respond flexibly to changing market needs while bringing innovative solutions to their customers.
In an ever-changing world, Jérémie knows how to bounce back from challenges, “Run with your life. Just do it,” he says. The IT sector is full of opportunities for those who dare to innovate and explore new horizons. “So don’t wait, act now.”
