Described by the New York Times as “a grand conclave of the tech industry’s high priests”, the Web Summit has established itself as a must-attend event in Europe’s tech startup ecosystem.

The Web Summit in figures: over 2,600 startups, 900 investors and investment funds and 70,000 visitors from 153 countries.

Attend the Web Summit and gain visibility by exhibiting on our startup island and via your online profile.  It is an opportunity to pitch your solution or product in front of an audience of investors and raise funds, consolidate your startup through meetings with mentors and expand your network through numerous networking events. Last but not least, you can keep up-to-date with the latest tech trends at the many conferences.

Practical info

The Web Summit will take place in Lisbon from 11 to 14 November.

hub.brussels and its software.brussels cluster are taking part, and will host eight Brussels startups on the startup island.

Selection criteria

The selection of start-ups participating in Web Summit is subject to final approval by the Organiser on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Your company must be less than five years old (date of registration with the CBE);
  • To qualify for the ALPHA category, your start-up must not have raised more than $1 million;
  • To qualify for the BETA category, your start-up must not have raised more than $5 million;
  • At the time of application, the start-up must at least be set up and doing business with its own functional website;
  • The start-up must have a logo available in .eps format;
  • Your start-up has developed its own software solution or product;
  • Your start-up is independent, and not a subsidiary of a larger organisation;
  • Please note that consulting firms, agencies, developers, marketing/advertising agencies and public companies will not be accepted.

Note: a start-up that has raised more than US$5 million in funding is not eligible for the start-up block, but can apply for the GROWTH track, at standard costs;

Participation fee

The participation fee of €300 excluding VAT* payable to hub.brussels entitles you to:

  • one of the eight booths on the hub.brussels startup island
  • between three and four tickets for all four days of the event
  • your startup listed on the event website and accessible via the search tool
  • access to the event’s networking application
  • the possibility of being selected for hours of mentoring, pitches, investor meetings and masterclasses
  • support from the on-site Economic and Commercial Advisor to help you make contact with local players

*hub.brussels cluster members will receive a 30% discount on participation fees.

Flights and hotels

Exhibitors are entirely responsible for booking, accommodation and travel costs, as well as on-site meals.

Subsidies

The participants can once again benefit from financial support from the Region. Check the conditions on the Brussels Economy and Employment website.
