Backstage Stories – Rethinking Tech: A Meeting with The Disruptives

For some, technology evokes code, obscure artificial intelligences, and complex systems. But for Dilnoza Shaumarova and Christophe Debauve, founders of The Disruptives, innovation only has value if it is deeply human.”The Disruptives is a digital studio that seeks to transform cutting-edge technologies into accessible, intelligent products that are deeply centered on user needs,” explains Christophe. “We try to turn deep tech into simple, intuitive, and high-impact experiences,” adds Dilnoza.

Their approach is based on a strong belief:“We always start from the field, not from the technology.”This philosophy gave rise to Skillstep, a platform designed to support migrants on their professional journeys in Europe, especially highly qualified migrant women. Using AI, it offers personalized coaching to navigate administrative processes, learn a language, or have diplomas recognized.

This human-centered technological approach isn’t new. Dilnoza recalls her early days in Barcelona, running workshops on wearable tech for visually or hearing-impaired people.“Despite the funding, their projects weren’t adopted. Thanks to empathy, they realized their approach didn’t meet real needs. It all changed when they took the time to listen to actual frustrations, daily habits… that’s when things shifted.”

Beyond advising developers, The Disruptives now supports a variety of clients—from startups to institutions like the European Union, and SMEs. Their added value? Going back to basics.“Many clients come to us after failures. We start from scratch: vision, product architecture, user experience. We help them build a solution that truly works.”

And they’re not stopping there. To help businesses remain agile amid rapid change, they’ve developed a hybrid methodology combining UX, strategy, product design, AI, and no-code. This earned them the Best Startup award in Stockholm during an international competition hosted by Claude Anthropic, Lovable, ElevenLabs & Supabase, featuring over 3,000 tech projects.

To support Belgium’s digital transition, The Disruptives is launching two free initiatives:

    • A 30-minute UX diagnostic to evaluate user experience maturity, identify friction points, and activate concrete levers for improvement in the age of AI.

    • A major co-creation workshop, in partnership with BECI, bringing together 50 professionals entrepreneurs, project managers, business leads, designers, and marketers around an innovative method: vibe coding. This ultra-collaborative approach allows the creation of functional AI and no-code prototypes, grounded in real operational use cases.

Despite their growth, Dilnoza and Christophe remain true to their identity: direct client relationships, open communication, and strong ethics.

And if you ask who they’d dream of having dinner with? For Christophe, it’s Carl Jung—to understand “that fascinating mind.” For Dilnoza, it’s Marie Curie:“She’s always inspired me. A woman of science in a world that wasn’t ready for her. I’d love to know what drove her so far.”

Two brilliant minds of the past, chosen by two future-facing spirits because at The Disruptives, thinking differently isn’t a trend. It’s a way of being.
